Todd Michael CohanFounder, President & CEO

As TextGuard’s President and CEO, Todd is responsible for setting the company’s strategic vision and leading its growth and industry leadership. He has guided the company from startup to its current position as the leading mobile compliance solutions company in the US by focusing on customer needs, innovative technologies and industry growth. Todd has over 20 years’ experience building businesses in the information technology and enterprise security space.

Todd began his career in IT with Metacom Technologies, which he founded in 1997 to provide Fortune 500 companies with information technology and security & identity management solutions and resources. As its President and CEO, Metacom grew to over 100 consultants, generating over $20 million in revenue and became the first IBM Education Center for IBM security solutions.

In 2005, Todd launched Sacure, a provider of data security, managed security and professional security consulting services. Sacure’s clients ranged from banks and financial institutions to auditors who rebranded the solution for compliance requirements for regulated industries. Todd was responsible for the design, architecture and staffing of a world-class 24/7/365 security operations center, developed all marketing and public relations campaigns, developed and led the telemarketing and sales division, and built strategic relationships with industry specialists and advisors.

Todd founded TextGuard in 2007 with parental monitoring and child protection in mind, but quickly saw the emerging needs in the financial services industry as well as other industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, construction, and energy. TextGuard has been featured in the media including Dow Jones, CBS TV, USA Today and Dr. Phil.

Todd received a B.S. from Rutgers University in 1995 and lives in New York City and is also a graduate of MIT’s Birthing of Giants Entrepreneurial Program  He was named as Top 100 Entrepreneurs in the United States very early in his career and has appeared on CNBC, in the Wall Street Journal and on various nationwide radio programs.  Todd is also one of the founding directors of Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO), which currently has over 6,600 members worldwide.


Mark Caron – Senior Advisor / Consultant

Mark Caron has spent his career playing a leadership role in bringing mobile services to the mass-market; starting with digital wireless services in the 1990s and text messaging in the early 2000′s.

As co-founder and lead marketing executive at Omnipoint Communications, the first GSM carrier in the Northeast (now part of T-Mobile), Mark created programs that captured consumer segments that were entirely new to wireless.  With innovative retail marketing, radically simplified pricing, the first full-service and affordable prepay offering, the first consumer data services, and highly targeted marketing efforts, the company grew to a $500 mil revenue run-rate in only 3.5 years and is regarded as one of the most successful mobile startups of its day.

After Omnipoint, Mark was Founder/CEO of Mobilespring/Ztango (now part of Real Networks).  Under his leadership, the company developed and deployed in 2001 the first inter-carrier text messaging network, enabling messages to travel cross-network and kicking off the explosion in text messaging.  The service is still in operation today, handling over 2 Billion messages/day and generating over $50 mil of annual cash flow.


Jeff Taylor – Senior Advisor

As the founder of Monster.com, Jeff Taylor forever changed the way the world networks and builds careers. Recognized as an innovator and visionary in both internet and careers industries, Taylor reinvented the way the world looks for employment. His “monster idea,” conceived at the dawn of the World Wide Web, quickly became one of the first dot-com companies (and the 454th registered domain on the web). Today, the Monster global network has grown into the world’s leading online career site, consists of language sites in 30 countries, and serves nearly 30 million visitors monthly.

A restless big picture entrepreneur, Taylor also tapped into the burgeoning generation of baby boomers. He harnessed the power of the internet to launch Eons.com, an innovative media company that challenges boomers and seniors to live the biggest life possible, which was acquired by Crew Media in May 2011. Taylor’s other web properties include obituary website Tributes.com and dating service Meetcha.com.

As an expert in technology, advertising, and human capital, Taylor zeroes in on what lies ahead, sensing economic upheaval, changing global employment, and the shift in doing business that Web 2.0 has created. Envisioning ways to capitalize on these evolving trends with technology and the power of human capital, Taylor taps into his experience to advise businesses on how they can break away from the competition by adopting a new mindset and getting in early with social networking.

Taylor is the co-author of the books Monster Careers: How to Land the Job of Your Life;Monster Careers: Interviewing: Master the Moment That Gets You the Job; andMonster Careers: Networking: Make the Connections That Make Your Career.

He serves on the board of advisors at the Berklee School of Music and is a board member of Boston’s Citi Performing Arts Center/Wang Theatre. Taylor holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; a certificate in Owner/President Management (OPM), Executive Education, from Harvard Business School; and an honorary doctorate from Bentley College.


John Wilson – Advisor

With more than 20 years of senior leadership experience, Wilson manages the company’s global field operations with particular emphasis on both direct and indirect sales. Prior to joining Qualys, Wilson was Vice President of Security Solutions at Verizon Business and before that, Vice President & General Manager, Americas for Ubizen. Before joining Verizon, Wilson held a variety of leadership positions with The Sayers Group, Winstar Communications, LANSystems, and Johnson & Johnson. In addition, Mr. Wilson served as an officer in the U.S. Army and is a combat veteran. Wilson holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BS degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.


Stan OstachevskiVice President of Technology

Stan is the designer and development lead of the TextGuard back-end application that communicates with TextGuard mobile device client and presents a web user interface for archival and management purposes for all of TextGuard’s services.  Stan defines the architecture, defines standards for the TextGuard mobile development team and directs development of the ASP.NET front-end application and user interface.

Stan started with TextGuard in 2009.  Prior to TextGuard, Stan worked in 2008 for Nordea Bank, a Nordic regional financial services firm, in their effort to upgrade legacy WordMerge systems containing approved legal templates.  Prior to that, Stan worked for over a decade for VED Company, a Russian distributor of telephony exchanges, IP telephony, conferencing systems and other telecommunications equipment, as a software developer, team leader and/or IT manager/software development manager in a variety of ERP, information management, e-commerce and telecommunications-based systems and applications.

Stan has a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technologies and an MBA in entrepreneurship and management from Higher Commercial Management School in Moscow.


Mike Hogan – Director, IT and Systems Administration

Mike Hogan is responsible for TextGuard’s IT and systems administration.  Mike has over 20 years’ experience in information technology from both a software and hardware background.

Prior to joining TextGuard, Mike worked for many blue chip companies including Motorola, Avaya and Lucent Technologies.  In these companies, Mike has worked in support roles for with Apple and Microsoft products during this period, and is qualified too MCSE and MCITP level of Microsoft products.

Mike has around 10 years’ experience of Blackberry Enterprise and consumer products working with customers from 1 to 20,000 Blackberry users. He has completed 1000+ Blackberry Enterprise Server upgrades on Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino and Novell Groupwise.
